E-reader update via TeleRead

Via Teleread, a blog containing "News & Views on e-books, libraries, publishing and related topics":

  • SmashWords is getting smashed
  • New head of Barnes and Noble's "Digital Newsstand and Emerging Content, Barnes & Noble.com" division.
  • The New York Times is planning to spins off its book review section as separate e-publication.
  • Stanford survey: iPhone is "addictive."
  • Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) reports on Apple's contract for iPhone App developers.
